Low-to-medium impact | For decisions that are not that important!

<Importance vs. Urgency: Decision-Making Framework>

• Autocratic: Urgency is high (e.g. angry customer barges in for a refund. The employee get’s to decide the refund)
“The person in charge has the say over the matter.”

• Democratic: Urgency isn’t high (e.g. where to go for team workshop)
“Set a date, vote and move on.”

Medium-to-high impact | For decisions that can have far reaching consequences on the business!

• Participatory: Urgency is high (e.g. spend a lump sum of marketing budget to give a boost or kill the budding project)
“The decision is still made by the select few authorities.”

• Consensus: Urgency isn’t high (e.g. on which technological backbone the program is supposed to be built on)
“Many stakeholders must come to an agreement before moving on.”
